Tulsa Police say a burglary suspect is in jail after an overnight arrest.
Police say an officer patrolling behind a business near 71st and Memorial spotted Scotty Jay Villines dressed in dark clothing standing near the southeast corner of the business with a duffel bag. The officer approached Villines to ask him what he was doing, at which point, Villines, told officers his car broke down and he was on his way to work in Claremore. According to the officer, he then searched Villines's records and found that he had a felony warrant for his arrest in Tulsa County.
Police searched Villines bag and found bolt cutters, battery-powered saws, and wire cutters and say they think he was about to commit a burglary. Police arrested Villines on a stolen vehicle warrant and a complaint of possession of burglary tools and said he's been previously convicted for burglary.
