Officials from the Oklahoma Department of Transportation say that crews are less than a month away from finishing road work on Highway 11 near the Tulsa International Airport
Currently, traffic has been reduced to one lane in both directions from the South Sheridan Road exit to the West Pine Street exit.
According to ODOT officials, crews are finishing up bridgework and removing the cross over detours.
Initially, ODOT officials expected the construction to end earlier in the fall of 2020, however, officials said that road work around train tracks created some delays.
"With some of the work that had to be done at the railroad tracks, there was a lot of scheduling that had to be worked out between crews versus the large amount of train traffic that goes through there," said Kenna Mitchell from ODOT.
According to Mitchell ODOT has spent $9 million on the project.
