Food On The Move held its last event of 2020 on Tuesday night at Oklahoma State University in Greenwood. The event was the organization's latest effort this week to make sure nobody goes hungry during the holidays.
Tuesday night volunteers gave away a record breaking 45,329 pounds of food and served almost 1,295 families at the OSU campus in Greenwood. Santa and Mrs. Claus also made a special appearance and handed out 1,000 toys.
Special guest Taylor Hanson held a surprise performance for all volunteers and community members who were waiting in line as well.
Over the course of 2020, Food On The Move has given away over 3 million pounds of food this year to over 550,000 people during the hardship the pandemic has created for many people.
This was the last event for 2020, but Food On The Move organizers say they will start back up their regular grocery giveaways at the OSU Tulsa campus in January.
