Three teenage girls are in custody on Monday after Tulsa police said they stole a man's SUV before leading officers on an early morning chase.
According to Tulsa police, the three teenagers were with a man in his Dodge Durango when he went into a convenience store leaving them inside the vehicle alone. Police said that when the man went inside of the store, the teens stole his vehicle and drove off.
Authorities say that an officer spotted a vehicle on the Broken Arrow Expressway, other officers joined in and attempted to stop the vehicle, but they were unable and a chase began.
The chase continued into a neighborhood near East 31 Street and South Memorial Drive, where police said that the teenagers came to a dead-end street and were then taken into custody.
Police said that there was a juvenile male who jumped out of the vehicle and ran during the chase, officers were able to apprehend him however he was eventually released as he did not know anything about the car theft.
The vehicle was towed away with minor damage.
