Suspect In 1983 Tulsa Cold Case Murder Dies Before Trial

A suspect in a 1983 cold case has died before the case got to trial.

Prosecutors said DNA led to the arrest of Willie Moore in 2019. Moore had been living in Wyoming for many years and was brought back to Tulsa to stand trial. He died recently from health issues.

Prosecutors said DNA linked Moore to a Tulsa motel room where victim Anthony Baltes was tied up and beaten during a robbery 37 years ago.

The victim’s daughter, Becky, said their family is disappointed they won’t be able to give a statement in court about how the murder affected their lives, but they believe God spared them from having to endure a trial.
