Friends are remembering the life of Staci Smith, who police say was killed by her boyfriend over the weekend in Sand Springs.

Police said Smith and her two and four-year-old daughters were stabbed to death.

Friends said Smith was a fun-loving and genuine person. They said she loved her children endlessly, and the community is in shock.

"It was almost like it wasn't real, you didn't want to believe it, at first it was unbelievable," said Cody Worrell.

Cody Worrell has been Smith’s general manager at Rib Crib for the past five years. He said he talked to Smith just last Friday afternoon.

"Definitely shocking, and something you never would have thought would happen, not only in our little small town but to somebody you loved," Worrell said.

Sand Springs Police believe Smith’s boyfriend, Philip Ross, killed her and their two daughters, 2-year-old Piper and 4-year-old River, before killing himself.

Sand Springs Police Chief Mike Carter calls this a heinous act and something you never want to see.

"This is the worst thing that has happened in my 28 years in law enforcement," Carter said.

Worrell said Smith leaves a big hole at work, and everyone already misses her so much.

"It's hard to put into words really, she was just a really good person," Worrell said.

A vigil will be held on Wednesday at 5 p.m. at Rib Crib.

A fundraiser will be held on Monday from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. at the Sand Springs Rib Crib. For anyone who comes and say they are dining "for Staci," they will donate 15% of the sales to Smith’s family.
