The Oklahoma Blood Institute says it’s in a blood emergency with less than a one-day supply of blood.

OBI said several blood drives are canceled because of the winter weather. OBI provides blood to more than 90% of the state.

"When we look out ahead at the cancellations and the likelihood of future cancellations, we just know we're going to be in a world of hurt if we don't get some help here now,” CEO of OBI Dr. John Armitage said.

They are holding two drives Thursday, one at the University of Tulsa from 10 a.m. until 4 p.m. and one at the YMCA in Bixby from 7:45 a.m. until 2:30 p.m.
