Oral Roberts University men’s basketball fans are ecstatic Friday night after ORU’s overtime upset win over Ohio State.
This is the first time since 1974 ORU has won a game in the NCAA tournament.
"Big for Tulsa, big for Oklahoma, big for small school basketball,” Tulsa resident Marcus Makar said.

Makar supports anything Oklahoma especially when it comes to his favorite college basketball team, the Golden Eagles, who just shocked the Ohio State University Buckeyes in overtime
He watched the win at Pearl Beach Brew Pub. With March Madness canceled last year due to the pandemic, he said this win made the tournament's return even sweeter to watch.

As soon as the Golden Eagles clinched their golden opportunity, it only took minutes to start hearing the cheers on campus.
“It's really exciting for all for us at our community,” ORU student Hannah Fritz said.
Fritz said this win puts her school in the spotlight.
Libby Thrutchley and her three friends are all senior nursing students. They said Tulsa deserves this.
"We were on out phones watching in our dorm rooms, so whenever we won, they did the final shot, they came over screaming,” Thrutchley said.
Makar said he's ready to see what his team will do next. The Golden Eagles will play the Florida Gators Sunday.
