Suspect Identified In Altercation With Fallen Washington Co. Deputy

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Oklahoma -

The Washington County Sheriff’s Office has identified the suspect involved in an altercation with deputy Kyle Davis two weeks ago. Davis was injured in the altercation and later died at the hospital.

The suspect has been identified as 36-year-old Athine Henderson.

Authorities said that Davis tried to restrain Henderson inside the jail on March 25, but Henderson fought back. They said that Davis was taken to the hospital, where he passed away.

Henderson was originally arrested on drug-related charges. Records show that Henderson has been in and out of prison since 2003.

A funeral was held for Davis, where over 2,000 friends, family and law enforcement officers from around the country gathered to honor his life.

Officials said that Henderson has been moved to a different jail.

This is an ongoing investigation.
