GRDA: Person In Custody After Cherokee County Shooting

The Grand River Dam Authority Police Department said one woman is in custody and another is in the hospital after a shooting in Cherokee County.

According to the GRDA, officers responded to a disturbance call around 11:40 p.m. at Eagle Bluff Resort along the Illinois River. When officers arrived, they found a female who had been shot in the neck.

The victim was flown to a hospital, but there is no update on her condition.

Police said 19-year-old Haley Lucinda Hathcox was taken to the Cherokee County Jail on complaints of shooting with intent to kill and assault with a deadly weapon.

This is an ongoing investigation. No official charges have been made.
