Tulsa police say a woman is in the hospital on Tuesday morning after she was shot outside of her house late on Monday night.
According to police, the shooting took place around 11 p.m. in a neighborhood near East 61st Street and South Lewis Avenue.
Police say that the woman and her husband had just arrived home after going bowling. According to police, they both exited their vehicle and the victim's husband went into the backyard to let the dogs out. Police say that while the victim was walking to the garage, a man came up to her with a gun and shot her in the side.
"Husband heard her scream. Thought it was a firework initially. When he heard her screaming, he came running out to help her and the shooter was obviously already gone." Said Lt. Brandon Davis with TPD.
Police currently believe that it may have been a robbery attempt, but they can not say for sure.
Police set up a perimeter and searched with a helicopter and a canine but were unable to find the suspect.
Police ask that anyone with information call CrimeStoppers at (918)-596-COPS.
