A Tulsa woman is recovering tonight after she said a stranger attacked her in her own home over the weekend.
To protect the victim's privacy, News on 6's is not using her name. She lives near 21st and Yale and said she was on her porch around 4 a.m. Saturday morning, when a man came up to her.
"Got up and came out of the house just to get some air, and I usually check my phone and smoke a cigarette," she told News on 6, "and I remember the guy on a bike. I remember him coming up the porch."
She said the man asked for a cigarette and then the next thing she knew, he attacked her.
"He went crazy, I was assaulted and then drug into the house. Then he started strangling me and was on top of me. I got him off and then started punching me," she recalled.
She has a broken nose, two black eyes, stitches on her lips and a concussion. She said he raped her, then took her keys and phone, but dropped his driver's license during the attack.
"I gave that ID to the police. The guy is in his mid-30's or late 30's, five foot, seven inches tall or nine inches, blonde and has a mohawk and tattoos," she said.
As bad as it was for her, she's thankful the rest of her family wasn't home. She wants her story to warn others to be on alert and she wants her attacker behind bars.
"I'm angry and ashamed - but I wouldn't say scared because I won't put myself in that situation again," she added.
Police said they are investigating this case and are looking for the attacker.
