The 15th Annual Tulsa Restaurant Week officially kicks off Friday with several local venues participating for a good cause. Organizers say the main goal is to raise money for the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma and give people a way to enjoy great local restaurants as well.
The 10-day event, from September 10 through the 19th, features 49 local restaurants that have come up with special brunch, lunch, and dinner, and cocktail menus at a fixed price. Prices range from $25-$45.
A portion of each check will go to the Community Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma’s Food for Kids Program. Along with that automatic donation to the food bank, the George Kaiser Family Foundation is also matching each donation up to $25,000. Last year the event raised more than $50,000 with the matched donation. Food Bank Community Engagement Coordinator Michael Dixon said this year they hope to exceed that amount.
On the list this year you will find places like Duet Jazz, McNellies, Dilly Diner, Yokozuna, and many more. For the full list of restaurants and their special menus, Click Here.
Organizers say there are other ways to donate if you can’t make it out to one of the restaurants this week.
“We hold fun drives, food drives, we do partnerships with local businesses who generously help us out,” Dixon said. “Every dollar donated will become the equivalent of four meals.”
Dixon said this is their biggest fundraiser of the year and it’s great to see the “Oklahoma Standard” put to work with the generosity of Tulsans.
“People can rest easy knowing that their donations go to a good cause, because who can't get behind feeding kids,” Dixon said.
