Oklahoma State University Announces $82M In Total Savings For Energy Management Program

The Oklahoma State University announced in a news release Tuesday that the university has recorded $82.4M in energy cost savings since creating the OSU Energy Management Program in 2007.

The announcement comes after three more buildings on campus earned the $1 million Energy Reduction Award.

The OSU Athletic Center, Nancy Randolph Davis and Nancy Randolph Davis West make that a total of 15 buildings that have received the award across the OSU system.

"The OSU Energy Management Program has been an undeniable success," said President Kayse Shrum in the news release. "These energy-saving milestones reflect OSU's unwavering commitment to sustainability and to our students."

Tammy Johnson with the OSU energy management team said the departments across the OSU campuses deserve credit for their energy reduction.

"If you've gone to a game at Gallagher-Iba, whether you know it or not, you've participated. At this point, people do things to conserve energy and may not even think about it. It's just part of our culture."
