Tulsa County Deputies are urging the public to help with keeping everyone safe at the Tulsa State Fair.

Deputies say they are concerned about the number of teenagers bringing guns into the fair.

The Tulsa County Sheriff's Office said they have made a total of 10 arrests so far during the fair.

They say safety is a team effort and that having visitors with watchful eyes makes a huge difference.

Deputies want to stress to people that they cannot bring guns to the Tulsa State Fair.

At last check, deputies say they have taken seven guns from people at the fair; three of which were teenagers

They say they have helped 87 lost children so far, which is high compared to 101 kids helped in 2019 for the entire fair.

Deputies are also monitoring parking lots. They say one car has been reported stolen.

Sergeant Mike Moore says people reporting problems at the fair have helped deputies out a ton.

"We take what they tell us, we go, observe and if we get the same type of feeling or witness something over that is a violation of either Tulsa County fairgrounds policy or violation of the law, then it allows us to make contact and identify the problem," Moore said.

Tulsa Deputies also say they have 300 cameras set up to watch over the event.

They also encourage parents to get a free wristband at the fair for their kids with their names and phone numbers so that any lost child can be found quickly.
