Oklahoma Congressman Kevin Hern Joins Bill To Limit IRS Reporting Requirements

Oklahoma Congressman Kevin Hern has joined a bill to block the IRS from implementing new requirements for banks or financial institutions.

The Prohibiting IRS Financial Surveillance Act is being introduced by Georgia Representative Drew Ferguson.

The cosponsors of the bill are expressing concerns over individual privacy and the IRS's ability to protect private bank information.

"At a time when trust in government is at an all-time low, expansion of IRS surveillance power is the last thing that people want," Hern said.

All Republican members of the House Ways and Means Committee are original co-sponsors of the bill.
