If you’ve been by Woodland Hills Mall, you may have noticed there’s a circus in town.
It includes trapeze artists, acrobatics and contortion all performed around a unique stage.
Cirque Italia travels across the country with performers from all over the world. The entire show happens on a stage filled with 35,000 gallons of water.
Water rains down from the ceiling as performers show off acrobatic skills from 35 feet high.
Cirque Italia clown and ringmaster Alex Acero says it's one of three stages in the world. He says there’s one in Dubai, one in Las Vegas and this week, in Tulsa.
"We have performers from Brazil, Argentina, Portugal, Romania, France, Cuba and Mexico,” Acero said.
You'll see acts from juggling to an aerial lyra duo to bubble contortion.
This family-friendly show is 1950's themed and Acero even dresses up as Elvis Presley.
"So you're going to see a lot of rock and roll, a lot of colors, you know, the costumes with the little poodle at the time,” Acero said.
He says it's called a water circus because they work around the water, on top of the water, and within a curtain of rain.
Laser lights add to the dramatic effect.
"You can come and enjoy your popcorn, your nachos, funnel cakes, cotton candy. We have show lights for the kids,” Acero said.
The show's location is hard to miss. It's the giant white and blue big top tent in the Woodland Hills Mall parking lot.
"Come, enjoy us for two hours. Forget about your problems,” Acero said.
The show will be in Tulsa until Sunday. The next stop is McAlester and then two more stops in Oklahoma.
