Reasor's CEO Jeff Reasor spent the day visiting with customers and employees to assure them nothing would change as the company merges with Texas-based Brookshire Grocery Company.
Jeff Reasor says his biggest message is everything will stay the same.
He says no employees will lose their jobs and Reasor's will still have the same great customer service it does today.
"Everything the employees have today, their jobs, rate of pay, their benefits, nothing changes, and I'm staying too," said Chairman & CEO, Reasor's, Jeff Reasor.
Current Reasor's C-E-O, Jeff Reasor will now be the President of the Reasor's Division under Brookshire Grocery Company.
He says he wanted to make moves for the future of the company and this merger felt like a good fit.
"Very similar company, very family-oriented, very customer-oriented and that was the biggest connection we had," said Reasor.
"They've done a great job taking care of their customers and developing a great culture here," said Chairman & CEO Brookshire Grocery Company, Brad Brookshire.
CEO Brad Brookshire says his grandparents opened their first store in Tyler, Texas, more than 93 years ago.
"They believe in customer service and through the decades they grew the company,” said Brookshire.
Now they operate more than 200 stores in four states under four banners including Brookshire’s, Super 1 Foods, FRESH by Brookshire’s and Spring Market in Texas, Louisiana, and Arkansas.
The company has more than 19,000 employees.
"I hope that every employee of Reasor’s when they join our company next year they'll feel like this wasn't a transition this was really seamless,” said Brookshire.
Brookshire says he hopes they can continue to enhance Reasor's brand and Reasor says he's excited for new potential services like online shopping.
"We could buy that same software program but it would be a million or two million dollars. they already have it in place and they can just overlay it on us,” said Reasor.
Reasor says he knows change can be difficult, but he wants to reassure customers the store will continue to look and feel the same way it does today.
"Don't believe the rumors you're reading on Facebook, go talk to the employees and the people in the store they can tell you what's going on," said Reasor.
Reasor says they're still continuing their plans to open another store in Broken Arrow soon.
They say the official acquisition won't take place until early next year.
