Restore Hope met with dozens of veterans on Wednesday, to offer them help to pay their rent and utility bills.

Restore Hope is a non-profit in Tulsa and said this is a way to honor veterans with Veteran's Day tomorrow.

"I had to run down here because I couldn’t believe it myself. So I had to run down here and see if it was really true and it is," said Floyd Frank.

Floyd Frank is a disabled veteran and said the last few months have been difficult.

“I got behind on rent for about three months. I barely made this month’s rent, but I’m still behind on two months. So I’m so glad to hear about this," said Frank.

Veterans like Frank are the reason volunteers from the City of Tulsa and non-profits held the event.

“Far too many veterans become homeless and so we want to make sure that those who served our country have a home to stay in and can stay in their home and can keep the lights on and the water running," said Jeff Jaynes.

Jaynes is the executive director of Restore Hope. He said since April, they've helped more than 4,000 people pay their rent and utility bills, totally more than 20 million dollars.

“These are our neighbors. They’re in a time of need right now and we need to help them. We need to show our love to them and help them get through this difficult time," said Jaynes.

The non-profit can help anyone in need but decided to specifically help veterans Wednesday. Frank said he's grateful.

“I’m feeling great. I have a huge relief off my back right now so I’m thankful I’m grateful and hey thank you right now for what's going on," said Frank.
