The National Weather Service said in its report Thursday night that an EF-0 tornado hit midtown Tulsa Wednesday night.
The report said large tree limbs were snapped at Woodward Park, where the tornado started. It eventually fell apart near Utica Square. The National Weather Service estimates this tornado's peak winds were at 85 miles an hour.
City crews spent the day Friday working on cleaning up the park and said they will have more work to do next week.
Just down the street in a neighborhood, a large oak tree, at least 80 feet tall, was uprooted and fell on a house. Crews working on the cleanup and restoration said there is severe structural damage, that will likely cost more than $100,000 to fix.
"It crushed the chimney and blew the chimney 20 feet across the roof. I was - we were blowing the roof off, getting the brick off the roof at 11:30 at night to make sure something didn't blow. And of course, our men are coming now to tarp the roof,” Paul Nosak, owner of Nosak Improvements, said.
There were some family members inside that home when the tree fell, but everyone is OK.
In its report, the National Weather Service said this tornado's path was only a half-mile and lasted two minutes.
It is also worth noting that in all three tornadoes Wednesday night, in Tulsa, Broken Arrow, and Catoosa, the NWS reported no injuries.
