A little kindness goes a long way. At least that is one thing Evan Dougoud, the CEO and founder of the BeHeard Movement has learned since he started serving Oklahomans struggling with homelessness. Beheard started with Evan and his camera- finding people who didn't have a home and asking if they wanted to share their stories.
Eventually, he started a YouTube Show called strEATS- a cooking show, starring people struggling with homelessness, sharing their favorite recipes from the streets.
Evan spends donation money to make his big dreams of providing dignity for the homeless---happen. Everything went towards the BeHeard movement. One of their newest projects is this shower trailer.
The freshly wrapped trailer keeps running thanks to donations and sponsors. They have hot showers, heated walls, heated floors, an AC for the summer months.
They have another trailer coming next year that will be for haircuts, laundry, and extra showers. Evan was recently able to quit his job and grow his non-profit full-time.
He is in his twenties and is fully aware, he could spend this time focusing on himself, but he says he only got to this point in his life because of people who were watching out for him.
He says it's an honor to watch out for others now.
