Tulsa Police fired shots at the driver of an allegedly stolen vehicle after they say he tried to run them over Monday afternoon.

It all started when police tried to stop the vehicle because it had stolen plates. When the driver saw the officers, he rammed into the front of a house nearby, then backed up and attempted to run the officers over.

That's when officers say they fired several shots into the vehicle. The driver wasn't hit and he drove away and ended up popping his tires on a curb. The chase ended in a field near Apache and New Haven.

Officers said the suspect continued to resist even after getting stuck and surrounded.

The suspect was taken to the hospital as a precaution. Police believe he is a tribal citizen, so the FBI may assist in the investigation.

This is a developing story, stay tuned for updates.
