Former Student Reconnects With Teacher Through Social Media

A Tuttle woman found her 4th grade teacher after 43 years thanks to social media.

Jennifer DeWitt posted a photo and letter on Facebook, hoping to find Linda Ogle.

Linda inspired Jennifer to become a teacher.

"Miss Ogle was a teacher that really invested in me. She taught me about choices and attitude," said Jennifer DeWitt, a teacher at Tuttle Public Schools.

"Teaching is hard. We wonder as teachers, the things that we say and model, do they really impact our students? And when I read her letter I remembered teachers do have an impact, for a long time," said DeWitt.

DeWitt said it's memories from her fourth grade class that have kept her pushing through recent hard times.

She said she's now inspiring others to become a teacher, including her own daughter.
