Federal Jury Convicts Church Leader For Sending Sexual Images To 11 Year Old

A federal jury convicts a Sand Springs church youth group leader for sending sexual images to a boy he was mentoring.

Prosecutors said Thomas Johnson sent explicit photos and texts to the boy for years, starting when he was 11-years-old.

They said Johnson used the texts to groom the child and asked for the boy to send him explicit photos.

The jury convicted Johnson on one count of attempted coercion and enticement of a minor.

A sentencing date has not been set.
