Oklahoma Highway Patrol Troopers are investigating a deadly crash that happened Monday night near 69th West Avenue and Southwest Boulevard.
OHP says three people were involved in the crash. Troopers say the driver is expected to recover, but one passenger died and the other is in the hospital.
Troopers say just before 11 p.m. Monday, two women and a man were heading south on Southwest Boulevard in a GMC pickup when they went off the road. OHP says the driver hit a pole, went down an embankment, and then landed upside down in a creek bed.
They say the driver may have been thrown out of the car on impact. A man who was riding in the car died at the scene and the other passenger, a woman, has critical injuries.
Currently, it is unclear if the weather was a factor in this crash. Troopers are still investigating and trying to figure out what caused the driver to lose control.
A tow truck was able to recover the vehicle from the creek. Southwest Boulevard was closed for a few hours but has since reopened.
