A house fire broke out at a home near Apache and Lewis early Friday morning. The Tulsa Fire Department (TFD) said the house was empty when they arrived and no injuries were reported.

They said when they arrived just after 1 a.m. they found big flames coming from the back of the home. Crews were able to control the fire quickly but they said there is quite a bit of damage to the back of the home.

TFD said the house has been vacant for some time and was boarded up after a history of people trying to get inside, but they suspect someone was able to get in anyways. They said someone inside trying to keep warm could’ve been how the fire started.

The fire was controlled within an hour and crews have left the scene.

Fire marshals have taken over the investigation to see if they can find out exactly what happened.
