Oklahoma produce farmers and ranchers are meeting Friday in Broken Arrow for the last day of the Oklahoma Local Agriculture Summit.
Organizers of the summit say the main goal is for ranchers and farmers to better learn how to get their products to people within their community.
More than 300 farmers and ranchers are meeting in Broken Arrow for the summit. Leaders say each day, there have been different break-out sessions to discuss growing practices, marketing to consumers and more.
Micaela Halverson with Oklahoma Agriculture says the benefit of buying local is knowing exactly where your food is coming from
"This is anywhere you can get those fresh food ideas. Your produce, your dairy, eggs, meat, honey. We have all of that across Oklahoma and those producers are here learning today and they're learning how to be able to market their products better at the farmers market," said Halverson.
Organizers will host a bus tour that will will take riders around to local farms and discuss more opportunities for farmers markets on Friday.
Friday is the last day of the summit.
