Rocklahoma is this weekend, but on Thursday organizers got the VIP tents ready and a Pryor florist is helping.
Many don't expect to see flowers at a rock concert, but these are no ordinary flowers.
The Rocklahoma flowers are all unique. Some have skulls, some have mice, and the rock fans here are sure to love the extra flair they bring for the weekend.
"This one has a cute rustic suitcase," said Pam Whitlock. "We've got our skull arrangements with our cryptic little mice.”
The flower arrangements created by Pam Whitlock and her team at Pryor flowers are the most hardcore in town.
“We have these birds of paradise which are tropical flowers, a bunch of tropical stuff, and like I said our little skull containers.”
Pam’s team was tasked with creating about 80 arrangements to spruce up the tents at Rocklahoma.
Those tents are for VIP’s and all kinds of behind-the-scenes people, so the pressure was on to make sure they flourished.
"You buy those extra tickets, you want to see that extra flair, and that’s what we’re giving them," Whitlock said.
The team has been snipping and sorting, and putting final touches on their pieces before shipping out to Rocklahoma to perfectly place their designs.
Each tent gets a different theme and Pam made sure to be meticulous about details.
"This is amazing, we’ve been planning this for about 6 months," she said.
She’s thankful to be tasked with such a big undertaking, and even more thankful for the community and her team’s help.
"The tribe I have behind me is amazing-- I could not have pulled this off without them," she said.
Now people are ready for some heavy metal, and flower petals, after Pryor Flowers rose to the occasion.
Pam said she’ll be doing the arrangements at next year’s event too.
Rocklahoma officially kicks off Friday, Sept. 2.
