Tulsans are remembering the owner of a popular Brookside Hamburger joint. Robert Hobson, the owner of Claud's Hamburgers, passed away last week.
"We've been eating here for years, I actually can't believe it, I'm in shock," said Lenora, a Claud's Hamburger customer.
Lenora lives in the area and said she goes to Claud's Hamburgers weekly. She said it's her family's favorite restaurant.
"We started eating here because somebody recommended it to us, and we really liked the flavor of their hamburgers, and they served a hamburger steak that came with coleslaw, and everybody loved their coleslaw," she said.
Claud's Hamburgers opened 68 years ago. Lenora said it's one of the most popular burger joints in town.
"Everybody I know eats here, all my neighbors eat here, eaten here for years," she said.
She said every time she ate at Claud's Hamburgers, the staff was friendly and she became friends with people who worked there.
She said while she didn't know Hobson personally, she is devastated for his family.
"My sympathies to the family, even though I didn't really know the family, my heart just breaks for you, and it's just a big loss," she said.
