After months of campaigning, the 2022 election season in Oklahoma is now over.
In the governor's race, incumbent Kevin Stitt defeated state superintendent and Democratic challenger Joy Hofmeister by nearly 14 points to secure another four years in office.
The governor said on Six In The Morning Wednesday that education will be a priority in his next term.

"I've put more money into education than any other governor before me. We're gonna continue to do that. We're gonna continue to challenge our rural schools." said Governor Stitt. "I passed the Redbud funding that specifically gives more money to rural schools. So all those things are going to continue, but we're gonna empower parents. We're gonna put more competition and make sure every rural kid has the opportunity for AP classes and more opportunities."
