Bristow Police want to know who stole a jar of money meant to help a little girl fighting an aggressive brain cancer.
That jar of money was taken from a local gas station. Run Stop had made a tip jar to help six-year-old Natalie Sanders fight brain cancer but workers said they were heartbroken when someone stole the whole tip jar. Natalie Sanders is a brave little fighter.
Her mom said Natalie is a kind, silly girl with a big smile. She’s fighting an aggressive form of brain cancer and her mom says Natalie is keeping hope.
"The town has been trying to raise money for this young lady and family," said Bonnie Barrera.
Workers at the Run Stop gas station in Bristow made a jar to raise money for Natalie. They couldn’t believe it when they noticed it was gone and watched their surveillance camera footage.
“Came in, went up to the counter, you could tell he was waiting to take it, grabbed it off the counter and walked out with it," said Manager Bonnie Barrera. "And it's money being raised for this lady fighting for her life.”
Barrera said she knows all her customers well and they’re like family.
Employees put out a new jar Friday and already have donations for Natalie.
“It devastated all of u,s we’re like, how can somebody take from a child a sick child?" she said.
Bristow Police Chief Kendra Raney said after posting the video on social media, investigators have leads on the possible thief. She said it’s the lowest of lows.
"It's a very sad situation when you have to when you stoop to that level, that you have to take from a little girl that is in the hospital today receiving chemo," Raney said. "It's a sad situation."
There is an account set up for Natalie at Community Bank in Bristow for anybody who wants to help out.
