South Tulsa Baptist Church is doing Something Good, by honoring its members who have served during World War Two as well as the Korean and Vietnam wars.
About 50 veterans received special pins at South Tulsa Baptist Church, to honor their service and sacrifice.
With the feeling of a Sunday service, South Tulsa Baptist Church took time on Tuesday to honor its veterans.
"This was something very unique, we've never done before and it was just a really fantastic, well done ceremony,” Pastor Eric Costanzo said.
One by one, the names of each church member who has served in the Korean or Vietnam wars was called.
Lee Pridgin, who served with the Army during the Korean War, said this is the first pin he's ever received for his service.
"It's something that I never expected to get,” he said. “Been so long ago, it's another life that I had. Back when you're young, things are different when you're 20 instead of being 90. It makes a lot of difference."
WWII veteran Cruce Lansford, who served in the Navy, was also honored.
"Yes, wasn't that nice? He was sitting right in front of me and I got to shake hands with him and thank him. I try to do that for gentlemen like that. I appreciate him,” Pridgin said.
Thanks to a partnership with the Coffee Bunker, loved ones were able to take a moment to place a pin on their veteran.
Several widows were also part of the ceremony, honoring the sacrifices they have made too.
"It was just a great opportunity for the church to be able to show appreciate and love, to people that we already know, love and appreciate, but in a new way,” Costanzo said.
