Skyride Demolition At The Tulsa Fairgrounds Delayed Due To Insurance Issue

Demolition of the Skyride at the Tulsa State fairgrounds has been delayed because of an insurance issue with the new owners.

A Tulsa County board approved contract changes on Thursday that will give the new owners a few more months to sort out the issues and then finish taking down the ride.

"It doesn't impact the sale, the sale has already been made, and technically its not our equipment anymore. It's the company's job to move it and they're working on that very hard," said Stan Sallee from the Tulsa County Public Facilities Authority.

The skyride opened at the fairgrounds in 1969, but closed after the 2019 fair and never reopened.
