More than 144,000 people across Tulsa County are waking up in the dark again on Monday morning after a devastating weekend storm left behind a trail of damage.

According to PSO, this has been its largest response since the 2007 ice storm, which brought down trees and power lines across the city, leaving residents without power for days.

Officials from PSO say it will likely take several days before service is restored across the city. Officials will provide an update on Monday with estimates on when service could be restored.

Officials from PSO say crews from as far away as new jersey and Delaware are coming to Tulsa to help with the recovery.

"This is going to be a multiple-day effort. We ask our customers for their patience as we re-build our grid," said Wayne Greene from the Public Service Company of Oklahoma.

Officials warn residents to keep family and pets away from any downed power lines and treat them as if they are energized.

Residents whose homes suffered storm damage may face even longer delays before seeing service restored, according to PSO officials.

PSO is also asking the public to stay away from crews while they are working, so they can get repairs done quickly.
