Motorcyclist Dead After Hit By Truck

A motorcyclist is dead after he was hit by a pickup in a crash near 46th Street North and Mingo.

Police say Joshua Newson was going East on 46th Street North when the driver of a pickup turned in front of him from the Westbound lanes.

Police say Newson hit the pickup's windshield before being thrown over and landing in the bed of the truck.

“He had a helmet on, doesn't appear to be any indication of excessive speeds, drugs or alcohol, or anything like that involved. It just appears to be a tragic accident,” said Lieutenant Stephen Florea with the Tulsa Police Department.

The driver told police he didn't see Newson coming before turning.

He's been released pending further investigation.
