A national biking event was in town on Sunday to help fight food insecurity ahead of Thanksgiving.

The event is called "Cranksgiving" and it was in Downtown Tulsa and is described as a scavenger hunt and bike race in one.

Local riders are given a route with store locations where they must spend at least $20 on groceries.

All food is donated to Food on the Move to help feed families for the Thanksgiving holiday.

"Just spend the day with friends, out riding around, not being in any hurry. I mean, you can race this if you'd like to, but we're gonna kind of do it for fun," said cyclist Stacy Biddle.

Bikers took the grocery items in backpacks or messenger bags.
