Students at Broken Arrow High School are giving back through "SMILE Week." It's a fundraiser for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.

Six-year-old Brooklyn Jokerst from Broken Arrow has been selected to get her wish granted. She has a malignant brain tumor.

Through SMILE Week, students are working to raise $15,000 to grant one or two wishes.

"SMILE" stands for seeing miracles in life everyday.

Organizers said it’s an unforgettable experience, not only for Make-A-Wish recipients, but also for the high school students leading this initiative.

"For our students, it’s really important for us to teach them about giving and the joy that you feel when you’re doing something for someone else. I think it’s really easy in this time to be self-centered and kind of forget there’s a world outside of what you’re walking through," said Christian Welborn with BAPS Student Life and Activities.

In April, a big wish reveal for Brooklyn will be held. That's when she'll find out what big surprise is waiting for her.
