Drumright Company Ships Off Large Project

A family-owned manufacturing business in Drumright is preparing to ship off its largest project ever after nearly two years of hard work.

This was a huge project for T&D Fabrication, and they say for this family-owned company, it took a real team effort to make it a success.

Monday was a big day for Terry Martin. He was checking on the crews preparing to ship off a product that's taken almost 2 years of hard work to build.

"I think anytime you do a project this size, you better have all your T's crossed and your I's dotted," said Martin.

It looks like something that will be launched into space, but the 189-foot-long behemoth is an absorber column that will be part of a water treatment plant in Springfield, Illinois.

"These are ladder clips, so a ladder, and then these are platform clips," explained Faith Mahoney.

She’s the engineer on the project and also calls the owner dad.

"It can be a lot of fun," said Mahoney.

She says working with family comes with its challenges, but getting to work with people you trust is worth it.

"I wouldn't trade it for anything."

Terry started this company with his wife back in 1995, and it's been a family affair ever since. His other daughter, Charity, plays a role, too, as the VP of Business Development.

"Today is one of my proudest days for my family," said Charity.

She says it feels amazing to see a project like this cross the finish line.

"There's a group of people who had an idea, and they all came together and sat down for a year and a half and made it happen," she says.

For this company, family just might be the secret to success.

"I could have never kept up with it; they saved us probably from going broke, really," said Martin.
