More Than 4,000 Coats Distributed So Far Through Travis Meyer's Coats For Kids

More than 4,000 coats have been given out so far through Trav's Coats for Kids. 

The coats are first cleaned at Yale's Cleaners and then distributed to those in need through First Baptist Tulsa. 

"The need has grown, we've been doing this three years, this is our third year to do this and through that three years, the need has certainly grown," said Loretta Shidler with First Baptist Church. 

Loretta says it's all about serving others.

She said everyone, especially kids, is so happy when they get to pick out their own coat just for them. 

"The people that come in, love that they can come in and one, choose a coat, not just be handed a coat, and they have that opportunity, it meets a need," she said.

Loretta says they've already given out more than 4,000 coats but she wants that number to keep growing.

She says she loves meeting the needs of others.

"A lot of gratitude flows out of here," she said. 

They will be distributing coats until Jan. 6th.
