A Broken Arrow mother is scrambling after she says someone stole her car containing the Christmas presents she'd bought for her four children.

She says there were also birthday gifts inside the car for two of her daughters who were going to have a birthday party on Sunday.

Ariel James says she was getting her children ready for school when her husband walked outside their Broken Arrow home to go to work, only to find their car was gone.

When she realized the presents were in the car, her stomach dropped.

Ariel James says the gifts inside the stolen car cost her about 400 dollars, 100 dollars for each of her four children, including birthday presents for two of them and two car seats for her youngest.

“I had got them some new clothes and new shoes and some drawing stuff, and then I had got their Christmas presents,” she said. “We didn't have a lot, so it wasn't electronics or anything. It was just mainly stuff that I do that they would need throughout the year as they get bigger."

She says her car doors were locked, so she doesn't know how somebody was able to steal it, and now she's trying to pick up the pieces and give her children a good Christmas.

"I'm thinking how I can get them a Christmas; I'm thinking of how I can get their birthday presents back because I don't have a job, and my husband is the only one that works," Ariel said.

She's contacted the Salvation Army for help and hopes someone spots her 2020 white Kia Optima.

"That's why I'm trying to get in contact with the news; whoever has it, you know if there's by chance if you can return it or just the stuff inside of it. I don't know what else to do.”

Ariel says her insurance company told her she has to give the police two weeks to find her car before it's considered a total loss.

If you have any information about her car, call crime stoppers at 918-596-COPS.

Ariel has set up a GoFundMe account to help with gifts, and you can donate here.
