The TYPROS Foundation helps fund the dreams of people who want to make a difference in the Tulsa community.

Casey Coman, an employee of the Food Bank of Eastern Oklahoma, beat out dozens of people to become one of a few selected for this grant.

Casey plans to launch 15 episodes through “Food Justice in Green Country” podcasts.

This idea started because she said she couldn’t find in-depth information on how to help people navigate food insecurity.

The money from the grant will help her buy her recording equipment.

Casey plans to interview, health care workers, social workers, and people from hunger relief organizations.

Each episode will also highlight a different member of the community with an experience of food insecurity.

"The goal of the podcast is storytelling. The goal is to take those stories and convert them into action. I think that stories are wonderful in and of themselves. But stories are also extremely powerful tools of advocacy," said Casey Coman, Farm to Table Program Coordinator for Food Bank of Oklahoma.

Casey hopes to launch her podcast by mid-March.

If you have a story idea you want to share with Casey, email her at onfoodandjustice@gmail.com, or call or text: (539) 664-6146.
