The Muskogee County Sheriff's office says Thursday's scheduled auction of Bacone College in Muskogee was called off on Wednesday.
The Sheriff's office received a letter from an attorney but the letter didn't say why.
The campus of Bacone College in Muskogee was originally set to go on Sheriff's auction on December 14 after Midgley-Hubert Energy Concepts said the school owes the business more than a million dollars for the work the company did at the school.
The sheriff said he was unsure why the auction was recalled.
Bacone College posted on Facebook that they hope the auction is recalled "for good".
Bacone hired a Utah company called Midgley-Hubert Energy Concepts in August 2020 to do some lighting, heating, ventilation, and air conditioning work on campus for more than a million dollars.
In September 2021, the company sued the college for nonpayment, and a judge set the auction for Thursday.
The letter to the sheriff's office was sent by a Tulsa attorney representing Midgley-Hubert Energy.
