Broken Arrow Park Hosts Trout Fishing Event

Dozens of people bundled up to enjoy a day of trout fishing out at Events Park in Broken Arrow.

Trout Unlimited was set up to teach people how to angle and cast a fly rod and organizers say the waters are primed for fishing.

"I understand there's probably about 1000 trout in here right now, they're all catchable and keepable size, you can take three home a day, and enjoy a day out, outside," said youth & adult education coordinator for Trout Unlimited Scott Hood.

Broken Arrow says the pond is restocked with rainbow trout every two weeks from December through February.

If you missed this fishing clinic, Trout Unlimited says it will be back on Jan. 13th to teach people ahead of the city fishing derbies planned for February.
