Rogers County Community To Provide Christmas Meals For Hundreds Of Families

About 750 families across Rogers County will have a Christmas meal thanks to the generosity of others.

'Share the Spirit' is going to take all of those boxes and use them to feed over 3,000 people this Christmas.

It's a community-wide effort to make sure people who need a Christmas dinner get one each year.

Rogers County residents and schools have helped by donating canned food items and money.

Whatever food they still need, like holiday hams and turkeys, Share the Spirit has been raising money for.

"That’s what we do this for. It’s kind of a thankless job and that’s fine. We are trying to help people so we don’t need the notoriety for it. We just have to have help to be able to get this done," said Dan DeLozier, Rogers County Commissioner District.

People who have signed up for meals will be able to pick up their boxes Friday, Dec. 22.

Sign-ups for this drive have closed but you can still donate food or money to help pay for the rest of the groceries.
