One of Tulsa’s biggest organizations that serves seniors is expanding its work with a new facility.
The Roma Berry Center will merge several resources of Life Senior Services together at one campus.
Agency leaders said as the population of older people grows, they need to expand.
Some of the services this new site offers include an active senior center, and a clinic that supports seniors who live in their homes.
The facility will also have four pickleball courts, an area for seniors to play basketball, a full art studio, café, and gymnasium with a stage for performing arts.
The renovated, old school building is 39,000 square feet and is located near South Sheridan Road and East 51st Street.
"It’s not only a comprehensive organization, but senior needs are changing. If you think about a 50 year old and 98 year old, their needs are very different and the way we age is different. So I’m proud that Life is pretty nimble in adapting its programming to the boomers as they age and even beyond," said Eileen Bradshaw, President/CEO Life Senior Services.
This new campus will allow Life Senior Services to be open more hours for programming late at night and on weekends.
Bradshaw is hopeful the new facility can be open the first of February.
