Brother and sister Andrew and Evelyn spent Monday’s holiday playing out in the snow.
“We did a challenge where we went out in the snow barefoot which was really fun, and then we also made snow angels,” said Evelyn.
They say it didn’t go so well.
“We couldn’t really shape the snowballs, it just splattered everywhere,” Andrew said.
So, on their day off from school today, they went inside the Discovery Lab.
Ben Johnson had the same idea and brought his three kids.
“They’ve been wanting to play in the snow, but the snow is too powdery to pack together, not enough to make a snowman, so we’re inside where it's not dangerously freezing,” he said.
He says a roof over their head and the freedom to roam and play inside is just what they need.
“They love it, I don’t even know where they are right now, but it's a nice, safe place to take them,” he said.
Out in Owasso, kids like Daniel Swake are having a blast at Wheels and Thrill’s Schools Out Skate. Daniel says he's a regular at the rink.
“Laser tag and skating it's just my hobby when I’m in my free time,” he said.
Plus...it's warm.
“I don’t like the cold weather because I can’t go outside and ride my bike outside,” he said.
Rather than be cooped up in the house, Cindy Story brought her four grandchildren here after a failed attempt at playing outside.
“Cabin fever, mainly, we tried to go outside and do those things, but it is so cold,” she said.
Even though it’s freezing, these families found a way to have some fun.
