2 In Custody Accused Of Neglect On 73-Year-Old Homeless Veteran

Tulsa County deputies arrested a couple they said took in a homeless veteran but didn't take care of him.

Deputies said Amanda Presley and Ricky Smith charged the veteran $500 a month to house and care for the 73-year-old man.

He was found living in filthy conditions without running water and he told them he hadn't had a bath in six months.

They said the victim also has a large cancer tumor on his head, but Smith and Presley never took him to a doctor. It's now grown to take one of his ears.

Deputies said the victim is now in the hospital receiving end-of-life care.

Smith and Presley were booked for neglecting a vulnerable adult.
