Broken Arrow Woman, Author Celebrates 100th Birthday

A Green Country woman celebrated her 100th birthday in Broken Arrow on Sunday.

Hazel Spaulding, who is a published author, said that as a little girl, she kept running out of reading material so she wrote a book about her mother's family traveling from Missouri down to Oklahoma in a covered wagon.

She also wrote a book about the Great Depression and the struggles her family went through.

Her family presented her with her newest published book at the party.
