On a beautiful day like Monday, 8-year-old Jack Odom gets to spend quality time with his favorite person.
“I’m Nana!” said his grandmother, Pat Ferrell.
Since it was President’s Day, that time was even longer.
"I like staying out of school," said Jack.
His nana traveled from Alabama to spend time with Jack on his four-day weekend.
“We’re out of school, and he was out of school Friday, and then today, it's so much warmer,” Ferrell said.
They both say they had to be outside.
"Nana said we should go on a walk, and I was like, 'Can I ride my bike?'" Jack said.
Jack says he also wanted to play on the swings, a new hobby he picked up.
"I was like, you know what, today is a good day to learn how to swing, and then I did it," he said.
Addison and her grandma Faith Bewley also tried out the swing set.
“She is off today and tomorrow, and one of her favorite activities when we can do this is go to the park,” said Bewley.
Faith says she is grateful for this day off from school and to be with her grandbaby.
“She is in school, so a lot of times with me working and everybody working, we don’t get to spend a lot of time together,” she said.
Pat agrees.
“It means a lot…a blessing,” she said.
