How long have you been doing drone photography? How does it differ from "regular" photography?

"I haven’t ever done “regular” photography. I haven’t ever owned a real hand-held ground camera. I have only done drone photography. I have been flying a drone since 2013 and just decided to zip-tie a camera to the drone to see what I could get."

How many drones do you own?

What inspires you about your work?

"Honestly, I just like to capture those special moments in the day that only last a few minutes. Life is busy and we easily miss some very beautiful moments. I do my best to capture the sunrise or the sunset in all its beauty and share it with folks. As well as anything crazy that the weather is doing."

What's your artistic process like?

"It all starts with the weather. I hang out in a chat group with a few folks that also take drone photos and one person that helps a ton with the weather. At my desk at work or home I have a monitor that I have a live feed of a visible satellite of Oklahoma. I have a weather radar up and when things are about to go with lightning I have a lightning detector up. Overall, I do my best to stay on top of the weather as best as possible. From there I try and take what the sky is giving me and try and make a shot work around it. Then you have the legal limits of a drone and what I can do. That is an entirely different story in and of itself."

What do you love the most about what you do?

"Capturing the shot is a ton of fun. Especially if it's some crazy weather phenomenon. But I guess it's sharing everything with people. I have said this for years. But what good is a photo if no one sees it?"
